I was talking to a friend of mine the other day and he mentioned that Stoeger is owned by Beretta International which is the same company that owns Benelli. After doing a bit of research I found that Stoeger offers a their model 2000 auto loader which uses the same inertia driven technology that the Benelli Super Black Eagel II uses. The only difference between the shotguns seems to be the trigger, barrel, and the fact that the Stoeger isn't chambered for 3 1/2 inch shells. One would have to assume that Benelli doesn't allow Stoeger to make the model 2000 in 3 1/2 inch since it would directly compete with the Super Black Eagle II at 1/3 the price. Everything that I have read about the Stoeger model 2000 has been positive. I am wondering if there is anyone else out there that has experience with the Stoeger and can provide seem feedback as to the qualify of the shotgun.
