    Where to Fish for Catfish

Catfish are one of my favorite fish to catch and eat, but the problem is I can never find them.  I have tried tube worms covered in dip bait, but you have to cover them about every ten minutes and they didn't work.  I also have tried gobs of worm and only caught bass or bullhead.  I think the problem is that I'm not fishing the right depth or cover.  So what type of cover do you guys fish.  Also what is the record cat weight (any species).

First off you need to fish where they are!! I would contact the local DNR and inquire about lakes and rivers in your area that hold good numbers of catfish. Second there are books and web sites totally devoted to catfifh fishing so just do your research online I am sure you can find plenty of different methods for taking cats.

The biggest catfish I caught was in the AuSable River in Oscoda, on a dead smelt.  Its been a number of years but we use to catch quite a few channel cats in the month of June/July.
