Lk Saint Clair - Last Friday & Sunday

I made it out perch fishing this past weekend for the first time this season.  On Friday I got 6 decent ones at the Metro Beach Basin.  The biggest one measured just over  10"  I fished from about 4pm til dark.  The bite was slow and I moved alot.  Sunday was a little better, ended up with 20 keepers, but I really had to work for them.  I made it out to the end of Cotton rd at around 6am and had two lines in by 6:20.  As soon as the sun started coming up they were biting.  I caught 3 nice ones right away and then nothing.  The day pretty much consisted of catching a few fish and then moving.  I fished there til 9:30 and got 15 nice perch.  I left cotton rd and went to meet my Dad in Fairhaven at 10:30.  We fished out in the bay their for about 2 hours and were only able to get 5 between the two of us.  It was a parking lot out there, cars & trucks parked all of the ice.  The snowmobilers were out in full affect too, must have been 100 guys out there making all kinds of noise.  After a lunch break I went back out to Cotton rd for the evening bite.  I fished from 4pm til 6:30 and didn't catch another perch.  I was moving around every where and just couldn't find them.  I did manage to pull up 3 largemouths that I thought were nice perch at first.  One of those bass really gave me a run with that little ice fishing rod and 4lb test, would have been a keeper if it was in season.

While at cotton rd I was anywhere between 200 & 500 yds off shore.  I caught most of my fish around 500 yds and in line with a white A-frame home covered with windows on the back side.  I didn't venture over by the Salt River but I heard they were doing well over there.  While in Fairhaven we were out in front of a red restaurant south of the DNR launch and about 300-400 yds out.
