I have been reading quite a bit about the Springfield XD pistols and I have yet to hear anything bad about them.  Of course we may not be hearing any bad news due to the fact that the manufacturers pay for advertising in most major publications and pissing a manufacturer off might not help future ad revenue.  This is probably why you never really read anything bad about a firearm review.  Anyway, does anyone own or know someone that owns a XD?  Have you received any positive/negative feedback.  I have been looking to pickup a mid to full sized 9mm.  I have a Sig P239 40cal and I love it.  It makes for a good carry gun and it is very shootable.  The only problem with it is the single stacked magazine which allows for 7+1 rounds.  I thought about picking up a trusty Glock but have been entertaining the idea of a XD.

The only thing that I have read that might be considered bad is that they are made in Croaita the former Yugoslavian republic. They aren't really known for there exellent manufacturing if you know what I mean. Springfield is the importer of the gun but they have nothing to do with building them. So take that info for what it is worth?
