Looking at doing my own reloads

I want to start reloading my own yet none of my regular hunting buddies seem to have enough reloading knowledge to point me in the right direction.  Looking for someone that knowledge and experience in loading both centerfire ammo as well as shotgun shells.  What all do I need to get started?  How many rounds should I expect to load before justifing paying off the reloader?  Any tips or opinions are appreciated.  Thanks and safe hunting.

Can't help you here ... I never really had the time to get into reloading.  For me it is a lot easier to pick up customer rounds or factory off-the-shelf stuff.
