What the hell does global warming half to do with peace?

I don't understand this at all( before you attack me I agree that there is global warming, hell I am even looking into buying a hybrid) I just don't see why Al gore won this award. Can someone explain this to me. The funny thing is that some of the other people that were up for the award were also enviromentalists.

Keep in mind that the Nobel Peace price isn't necessarily about peace.  Well not just peace alone.  The Nobel prizes are awarded in various categories including chemistry, physics, etc.  The peace prize is awarded to someone that impacts world peace through awareness or evangelism.  One could argue that Al Gore has impacted the future peace of the world by making people aware of the pandemic.  Global warming will most certainly have an impact on world peace and the struggle for natural resources.  Especially those that don't negatively impact the environment.
