22 mag solids or hollow points?

What is the best round for coyote? I have shot coyotes with a shotgun and rifle in Michigan, but not with my .22 mag yet. I was thinking that the solids will go deeper and put a smaller hole in the fur.

I would use a jacketed soft-point. That would be the best of both world's. I think that there are several companies who make a soft point for the 22 mag. Try several brands and shoot the one that shoots the best out of your weapon. Good Luck!!!

Remington loads a 40 grain pointed soft point. I am sure they will work well under 100 yards. I have seen them used in hunting videos. They seem to do the job nicely!! They are the best of both worlds just as turkey-god said. Good penetration and expansion with little fur damage.

Has anyone seen a Randy Anderson video?  One of the guys that hunts with him selected a 22 Mag because the recoil is small enough to mount a video camera on the rifle without disturbing the video quality.  Anyway there is plenty of footage of him absolutely flattening coyotes with a 22 mag.  I am not sure what ammo he used though ...
